2nd PEMBA DOMA MEMORIAL QUIZ CONTEST 2014.

Late Pemba Doma Sherpa a renowned climber, wife, mother, entrepreneur and philanthropist was born (7^th July 1970 AD) in Namche-1 of Solukhumbu district of Nepal. She lost her parents at the age of two and was raised by her grand parents who owned a guest house in Namche Bazar.. She got her schooling from Khumjung Higher Secondary School, one of the 26 schools established in Nepal by Sir Edmund Hillary.

Though she had to face the hardship of not having a mother to take care of her and being born in one of the remote areas of Nepal, she went on to do many things that seemed impossible for her at that time. She was the first Nepali woman to climb Mt. Everest from the North Face (Tibet side, 19 May 2000) and on 16^th May 2002 she led a Nepali Women’s Expedition to the summit of Mt. Everest from the South face which made her the First Nepali Woman to climb Everest from both sides. Shortly after her ascend from the south side she married late Rajan Thapa and became a mother to a daughter ( Sairani Lhemi ) in 2003. After their marriage they started a trekking agency (Climb High Himalaya Trekking Company). She was the director of the company. She didn’t stop climbing even after marriage. She successfully made a summit to Mt. Cho-Oyu (28^th Sept 2005) from the Tibet side. She also reached to the summit of Mt. Lhotse but while descending she faced a tragic accident on 21^st May 2007.She fell from a height of 8000 m which was witnessed by an Australian Mountaineer Philip Ling.

From an early age she believed that, “Education is an opening to many things and can benefit many people….”. She founded a social organization named ” Save The Himalayan Kingdom” which provided education to children of Nepal irrespective of caste. Her fluency in various foreign languages gave her the leverage of raising fund for the education of the children supported by her organization.

In the words of her friends,” Pemba Doma was a fine person who cared for others and made a difference wherever she went, she will be sadly missed by many, especially in Nepal and also around the world.

It is said that “Pemba was much more than an accomplished climber. She was an inspiration to women everywhere, and a selfless champion of the Sherpa people. Her presence will be greatly missed.”

So for the second time we have come with The “Pemba Doma Memorial Quiz Competition” as a tribute to her achievements and her determination to help the needy. Her life is an inspiration to many Sherpa youths, men and women alike. She although being brought up in one of the remote areas of Nepal went on to doing great deeds that benefitted our community and the country. Sherpa Youths can relate to her story and get inspiration from her to face the challenges that the Sherpa youths of today face.

Essay Writing Competition 2013.

Date 2069/12/31, Saturday.

Sherpa youth club organized “first essay writing competition“ at mendo café on 10. A.M to 11. A.m  among the sherpa student living in the valley. With motto to develop wrting skills among sherpa student, student were given a topic “Women can be better parents than man” . Being first time organized by sherpa youth club, 14 competitor were present in the competition among them maximum girsl were present in the competion.

In the competion  NRN of USA & President of 7 summitts foundation Mr. AC Sherpa was invited as a chief guest. He is invlove in social activities since many year in Nepal by helping different romote school and women, children in the field of education and health.

The competition were organized among the SLC to 10+2 Studying student. Simultaniously first, second & third winner will get rs 3000, 2000, 1000 along with certificate to all the participatent.

The competition was fully sponsered by 7 summits foundation to encourage sherpa student of kathmandu valley  in the field of education. The result will be published on 7^th of Baisak 2070 at Mendo Cafee.

One day Training

Date 6th April 2013,

One day training of Chirato cultivation have been successfully given to few sherpa people at Mendo  Cafe today.

Each participant have paid Rs 1000.00 for the class.

American NRN Mr. AC (Ang Tshering) Sherpa, President of Seven Summits Foundation & Advisory of Sherpa youth personally donated a Fujitsu Lifebook Laptop Computer to President of Sherpa youth club Mr. Tukti Sherpa. He also advise us to work in the field of educational activities. In the same way sherpa youth club is organizing a Essay Competition on 6th of April at Mendo cafe. This essay competition is fully sponsor by 7 summits Foundation USA to promote youth activities in academic sector.

1st Challenge Chess Competition 2013.

Date 23^rd March 2013,

With great success 1^st Challenge Chess Competition successfully completed at Mendo Café, Tushal, Boudha, Kathmandu. This event was started from 16^th March 2013. General Secretary of Sherpa Association UK, Mr. Nawang Gyatsho Sherpa  inaugurated the ceremony. In the same way 16 players have participated this event.

Among them Mr. Tshering Sherpa of Goli became the winner, 1^st runner-up Mr. Ongchhu Sherpa from Tapting-6 and 2^nd runner-up Mr. Nima Rinji Sherpa of Gora solukhumbu in the final.  Retired Principle of Government School Mr. Balakaji Sherpa hand over the copper’s certificate to the winner.

 

Male and Female Chess Competition 2013.

Sherpa youth club is organizing a “Chess Competition” among the Sherpa  living in Kathmandu. Talented youth, Pala, Gaga who know chess, who can play they are invited to take part in this chess competition. This is the time to show your brainpower, this is a time to show our talent.

Winners are awarded with crystal trophy.
Awards are : Winner, Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up etc with Medal and Certificate.

Final Game of Sherpa Lhosar Cup 2013.

Tomorrow there  is a final game of 4th sherpa lhosar cup football tournament 2013 at 9th of February.

Unexpected team have entered in to final, after all game is game. Prediction cann’t be true in game. During this whole game bhojpur Football Club was expecting to reach in final but luck didn’t favor them. the organizer team was also expecting for the trophy before game beginning but this game didn’t his their luck so some time better player and over confident too  fail to win the game. luck and game is two different thing in life but we judge game with luck too some time even more professional player’s team fail to show good game some time and some time unexpected player or team shows good game at tournament so we can’t say any thing who win.

At last final is final so anyhow both team play hard to win the first trophy but simple and small mistake puss them back from kissing first trophy in the final game.  Let’s see tomorrow 9th February at Sano Gaucharan Play ground on 12. P.M the final game between Sindu Sport club and Chulsum United. Both the team have good players. They both play with good technique and show good game to audience.

Sindu Sport is participating this tournament since 2 yrs but cholsum United is first time.

4th Sherpa Lhosar Cup begin.

4th Sherpa Lhosar cup begin from 2nd February at TIA Football Ground at Hattigaudha in kathmandu. Since 4 yrs sherpa youth club is organizing this tournament for the development of sherpa youth in the field of sport. various regions sherpa youth and lhosar celebrating communities youth have being participating this tournament since its establishment.

Chief Guest of Opening Ceremony was Vice President of Sherpa Association Belgium, Mr. Ang Phula Sherpa, Special Guest were Miss Sherpa 2012, Miss Chimi Sherpa, MD of Himgatha Weekly, Pasang Sherpa, MD of Soluonline Mr. Suraj Rai, President of The Mountain Foundation, Mr. Phurba Sherpa, President of sherpa student forum Mr. Dojang Sherpa , Karate Player Mr. Dawa Sherpa, 2nd Runner-up of miss sherpa 2012, and opening ceremony was chaired by the president of sherpa youth club Mr. Tukti Sherpa.
